Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access
Inclusion, diversity, equity and access is core to eliminating inequities in pain, substance misuse and mental health.
At the Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center we advance health equity through:
Recruitment & Retention Practices: Our recruitment and retention initiatives center those most impacted by pain, substance misuse and mental health and from Latiné, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, under-resourced and rural communities.
Intersectional Approaches: We use an intersectional approach in our center allowing us to nuance our work and intervention strategies to address the inequities that impact those who are multiply marginalized.
Survey & Assessment Tools: Internal and external surveys, focus groups and other qualitative and quantitative data and assessment guide our work in becoming a truly inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible center.
Engagement & Education Initiatives: Engaging and educating our community partners, collaborators, policy makers and employees in the work of inclusivity, diversity, equity and access helps us to further our goals to advance health equity state-wide and nationally.
